The Challenge
Since its inception in June 2002, Aspen Re has actively recruited graduates
year on year. As a global insurance and reinsurance company, Aspen Re is well
known within its own market, but due to the specialist nature of its business
it is not so widely known outside the sector. As such, the Company was
not receiving the desired level of relevant applications; either from
candidates with the necessary qualifications or with an appropriate
understanding of the Group and the reinsurance industry.
Therefore, the challenge was to find a timesaving recruitment solution that
firstly attracted the right calibre of candidates but secondly one which
filtered out irrelevant applications before they entered Aspen Re’s internal
recruitment process.
The Milkround Solution
A simple pre-screening tool ensured that ineligible applicants (those not
meeting Aspen Re’s minimum requirements for hire) were automatically filtered
out; thus reducing the amount of unnecessary processing. This was in turn
integrated with additional information-gathering pages to make a fully comprehensive application form comprising of
biographical data, academic and professional qualifications, open-text
competency questions and reference requests.
In addition, Aspen Re’s desire for timesaving features led us to offer automated
management tools with reporting capabilities as part of an ATS system, and the functionality for the HR team to quickly and easily correspond with candidates and track
applications throughout the recruitment process.
The Result
Milkround’s pre-screening ensured that Aspen Re could focus on 295 high-quality
applications from the 600+ graduates who originally applied for positions.
As such a filtration ratio of over 54% was successfully achieved.
