The Challenge
RGL have a very specific requirement when recruiting graduates. They look for
just 1 or 2 graduates per year, but need the calibre to be extremely high, with
minimum criteria of a 2.1 degree and 300+ UCAS points.
The Milkround Solution
Milkround proposed a basic pre-screening tool in 2006 to ensure that RGL only
reviewed applications that met these specific criteria. RGL also wanted to
retrieve additional information from applicants, so we proposed additional pages forming a comprehensive
candidate form that collected all the information RGL required and allowed the
uploading of CVs. In addition we provided our standard ATS, with candidate management and
tracking tools to help handle applications.
The Result
By utilising Milkround’s services, all invalid applications were screened out so
that the number of applications RGL needed to review fell in one month from 239
to 33, all of which met their fundamental criteria: a reduction in reviewing
time and effort of 86%.
When RGL encountered problems accepting applications from overseas applicants
whose educational background did not correspond with our UCAS point system, we
were able to amend the screening criteria questions on RGL’s form to allow
international candidates to apply even if their qualifications were not in the
standard UK format.
